@svr-autosport, in RPM Setup you can just turn off RPM2 (or RPM1 depending) and it will not include the MOI of front or rear rollers.

@radics1, that is easy to implement if we have the ignition timing channel. I would need to add a "Clear" button to the graph when you change RPM too. You should be able to get the ignition timing from OBD2 for most standard cars. With CAN bus is there a standard address or something for ignition timing?

@radics1 check it out, we have the new steady state tuning feature now :-)!

This is a nice update.

Does this mean we can link can bus engine rpm to the dyno engine rpm channel so we can just change gears on steady state tuning to for example be able to reach the low load cells, without having to recalibrate the rpm everytime ?

Hi there!

Nice features! is it possible to use the RPM coming from CAN as a source for RPM? This is really useful for steady state mapping when the RPM's drift of a bit.

Kind regards!

Vincent

Tuners!

YourDyno_3.2.96 is here. Download here. It's a nice one!

Changes:

  • CAN bus support, as described in the video
  • Improved error reporting for those making their own plugins
  • New runs are now at the top of the list of runs (the list at the bottom of the page). Axis colors change to follow the newest run
  • Ability to add date to the file name of the raw log file
  • Fixed bug in Load Control when using Ramp up brake before run
  • VMTronic USB relay plugin changed so you can manually select the USB serial port. This device uses the same USB ID as other devices, so auto connect is not possible

Enjoy! As always report any issues.

Thanks for the update, All seems great!

But one small bug, or maybe it's intentional?  When you disable AUX channels in the options the names still appear in the gauge selection windows.

on another note, Would it be possible to calculate Hp on the fly in the run window with the Retardation data?

Hi Kris, yes the gauge selection will show all channels for selection even if the aux channels are disabled. The plugins are shown dynamically, i.e. it only shows those channels that are loaded.

For a new retardation run it is not possible to show hp with retardation data, since the retardation data is not available yet. There is enough information to be calculated on the fly if you use the stored retardation data. However these calculations happen after the run, so it is not available without a bit of software work.

Hi, Ahh okay,   No bugs to be found then!

I understand that it's not possible with a new retardation run.

Is the data all Available for me to do this with a plugin?

Yes, it is possible to create the Engine HP on the fly in a plugin. It is not obvious how to do it though, need a bit of knowledge on the internal formats.

There is a software revision coming where you can separate out as graphs/gauges the acceleration power, load cell power, retardation power, etc. When creating this I can take a look to see if I add the Engine HP on the fly too when you use stored retardation.

Tuners,

Software version 3.2.97 is available now. Only difference is that the CANTool plugin had a file permission issue that prevented changes to the channel setup to be saved. This is fixed. A new Code signing certificate is now also installed. This will (eventually) get rid of the warning about potentially dangerous software.

Tuners,

Another bug fix, version 3.2.98 is available. When cutting the graph, the max power/torque numbers were wrongly updated.

Hi guys,

YourDyno version 3.2.100 was released today. Changes:

  • Support for different power units: HP, PS (metric HP) and kW
  • Support for different power correction standards:
    • SAE J1349-2004
    • DIN70020
    • ISO 1585-2020
    • JIS D1001
  • Fixed a bug where ScanTOOL[RPM] could not be used for gear ratio calculation

Enjoy!

Tuners!

I am excited to announce software version 3.2.102. It brings a lot of new things:

  • Results table; view the results in a configurable table in addition to graphs. See this video for demonstration: Working with Result tables - YouTube
  • Much improved and configurable results summary table, see video above
  • Ability to configure Aux channels with a curve instead of just two points. This is necessary for sensors that are not linear, for example resistor based temperature sensors (like water temperature sensors)
  • Improved prints. Previously the print preview would not match the paper prints on all printers, this is fixed, and alignment of the header is better
  • Better auto scale in graphs
  • Monitor location of the Run Window is now stored, so it does not always open in monitor 1
  • Better handling of disconnects for the OBD2 ScanTool plugin
  • An advanced option on compensating for Power related losses. When calculating engine power, the power correction can now apply to both the measured wheel power and the measured speed related losses (default) or only to the wheel power. See the Advanced button under Basic Dyno Setup -> Engine Power Calculation

Lots of work behind this release, I hope you like it! As always, let me know of any issues.

Cheers, and merry Christmas!

Hello Jostein,

Ever thought about my additional ideas? Even starting the fan or exhaust vent systeem can be done by looking lambda for vent and speed for fan. maybe with delay until lambda is fully lean.
