Please see below for UnaVision software changes
Hi Jostein / YourDyno team,
I have been using YourDyno on my 4x4 braked dyno for several years now and have completed over 1,000 runs with it. It’s a great software, but there are two things (one feature request and one bug fix) that would make the daily workflow much smoother.
1. Feature Request: Detailed metadata fields in "New Session" window Currently, when creating a new session, we only have a single "Session name" field and a general "Description" box. It would be extremely helpful if the New Session window allowed us to fill in individual metadata fields—such as Brand, Model, Vehicle ID, Engine ID, etc.—matching the columns available in the run viewer table.
-
Why: Having these dedicated fields right at the creation prompt would allow us to quickly generate properly structured, well-described sessions before starting a run without having to edit them manually later.
2. Bug Report: Fixed plot colors not staying consistent There seems to be an issue with fixed graph colors when reviewing previous runs. Even when fixed colors are selected in the settings, the software still renders different line colors on the plot, or mismatched colors in the maximum values summary section at the bottom of the graph. Keeping consistent, user-defined colors for comparisons is crucial when overlaid runs are being analyzed.
Thanks for your continuous hard work on the software! Looking forward to your thoughts on this.
Best regards,
Fellow tuners,
UnaVision_4.1.17 was released today. Changes:
- Automatic channel labels in the graphs. This is very useful if you have several channels visible and/or several runs. If only 1 run is visible, the labels show only the channel name. If more runs, then the label is <run number>: <Channel name>. If the run name is changed from the usual <Session name>_<run number>, then the full name is used in the label. The labels can be turned on or off by Right click and "Show channel labels". They can also be moved around like you want. See attached screenshot
- Much better support for 32 and 64 bit versions. Generally it is recommended to install the 64 bit version, but some older plugins, namely VM167, CANTool and dynoKRAFT ADAQ are only supported in 32 bit mode. Now you can select 32 bit in the install, and those plugins will work
- Support for firmware upgrade for the old YourDyno Standard v4 (pre ~2022 Standard units)
- General cleanup here and there
Enjoy and as always let me know of any issues, jostein@yourdyno.com
Having some scaling issues where I can't see the inputs on the brake setup screen.

Hi folks,
UnaVision version 4.1.16 was released today.
Changes:
- Firmware update for YourDyno Standard v5. Now you can reboot the PC without disconnecting and connecting the YourDyno box. This fix was long outstanding and somewhat annoying. Go ahead and update at Options->Firmware upgrade
- Similar fixes available for the Ultimate boxes
- Fix of locked graph tabs after a run. This would occasionally happen, in particular on slow computers.
- Now the Results tabs show the selected data channels even if no run is loaded, which is similar to graph behavior
Thanks for the feedback, and as always let me know of any issues at jostein@yourdyno.com
Some great improvements there. Thanks Jostein.
Hi folks,
UnaVision version 4.1.15 was released today. It contains a number of improvements, so an upgrade from 4.1.xx is recommended.
- Higher resolution, faster graph printing. Earlier it would take a while to generate a printout, plus watermarks would not always be placed in the same place on the print as on the screen. This is much improved now
- Lower graphics processor load for the graphs. This is mostly noticeable on lower spec computers
- Ability to enter Comments before the run is done. Earlier comments had to be entered after the run
- Ability to modify the run time/date
- Bug fix in the moment of inertia wizard
- A number of other small cleanups and fixes
New functionality:
- There are now two different Moment of Inertia wizards
- The existing two coast downs method as before for high inertia dynos (chassis and some hubs)
- Oscillation method (new). This method makes the dyno/engine oscillate around a certain RPM, and calculates the matching MOI such that the power/torque vs RPM follow the same path going up as going down as closely as possible
Feel free to play with the new MOI wizard. A video will come soon explaining it better, so stay tuned!
As always, any issues let me know at jostein@yourdyno.com
Cheers
Hi everyone, is there a working German version of the UNA software yet?
Best regards,
Frank
Folks,
UnaVision version 4.1.12 was released today (beta).
It is a cleanup release, no new features. The following are changed:
- Further improvements to Font scaling. If you want larger fonts, control the scaling by right clicking on the Windows desktop, then select Display Settings, and select Scale. Use this instead of Options->Font size which will be depreciated
- Fixed a bug in the MOI Wizard
- The results Splash screen will now always be on top of other windows, plus there will only be one Splash screen at any time. In case you have Auto close turned off, earlier you could have several Splash screens from earlier
Enjoy, and as always report any issues to jostein@yourdyno.com
The font sizing is very cool as I over the 50 😀
For us old guys with sub optimal vision, this is what I do...
I run a little program in the corner of the run screen called Magnifixer. In this window it shows the area around the mouse pointer magnified by the selected amount. I use 3x or 4x.
This allows me to make changes to the run screen on my 43" tv/monitor from inside the car. Without this, I cannot read the little numbers from the driver's seat.

Folks,
UnaVision version 4.1.10 was released today (beta). Here are the changes:
- Ability to select theme when printing. This is nice when printing to PDF, or if you want more colors on your paper print. Select the printer theme under File->Print page setup
- Ability to reduce computer load by running slower update rates on the graphs. The new graph library is GPU hungry on full throttle, so for slower PC or PCs without a graphics card, select "Reduce computer load" here: Options->Dyno type and profiles. Update rate is max 10Hz with this option, but this still looks good
- Exiting UnaVision was slow on some computers. This is sped up now
- More fixes when running different windows scaling from 100%
- Fixed a truncated digital gauge for large numbers
In addition, it is now possible to run UnaVision in 32 bit mode. By default, UnaVision is now running 64 bit, but for some old plugins (VM167 for example), 64 bit is not supported. Both 32 and 64 bit are installed. To force 32 bit, change the UnaVision shortcuts to open ...\x86\YourDyno Unavision.exe
Enjoy! And let me know of any issues at jostein@yourdyno.com
Folks,
New UnaVision version, version 4.1.09. It is focused on printing issues and windows scaling:
Changes:
- Better printer support: Earlier, printing would not work on some PCs. If the printer driver acted up, it could even prevent the program from starting
- Table printing made prettier
- Windows scaling was not supported earlier. Meaning if you ran Windows with for example 125% scaling, the graphs would change size and the dashboard would look ugly. Windows scaling is now supported.
As always, let me know of any issues (jostein@yourdyno.com)
Enjoy!
Hi folks,
UnaVision 4.1.05 was released now.
- Fix: Sometimes runs would not be stored and results would be 0.00
Thanks for reporting!
@bendd, I tried to reproduce your db issues, but it works here. Contact me directly next week and I can login with you and check what is going on
