@cmadmin thanks for that. Went to enable canbus but it says “CAN bus output is not activated. Please contact YourDyno to activate CAN bus functionality”

how do we go about activating?

Also is there a way to turn our monitors sideways? Much like dynapack software, so for eg instead of having our power and torque graph in one monitor and the AFR underneath it horizontally, we could have the option to split the screen vertically?

so our trace lines don’t look flat if we are trying to to watch both run at the same time?

@trevor-briggs If you have a Standard v5 without CAN bus license, then the licence can be bought in the web shop ($250).

@trevor-briggs yes, just turn the monitor vertically and split the screen. This is setup by Windows, the graph and gauge windows can be arranged as you like.

Just updated our yourdyno today to UnaVision, everything went perfectly transferring over our old database sessions, ran an engine for 5 hours with no issues, the new data base is really nice upgrade, also having the text data on the bottom of the analog gauges is helpful, good work Josetein @cmadmin

Hello!

New version with database is Great. But im missing the function to have like

1: Customer

2: Car/Engine

3: Runs

In the database with all sessions and runs. When i imported all sessions from old version i had .

One main folder with customer name

And inside that i had the diffrent cars and stuff.

Is it something that can be added?

Othervise Great work.😊

@mac3ce all this is possible. Just right click on the heading of the Session and click New custom parameter

The Runs is already there, it is called Total runs

Folks,

UnaVision 4.0.47 was released today (Beta). Some nice new features!

New features:

  • Ability to adjust the Font size (Options->Font size). Good for us over 50 😉
  • Using different font that renders better on Asian windows versions
  • Improved Auto-stop. With Auto stop on, the recording will not stop when reaching the end RPM, it will continue until the RPM and torque start dropping
  • Related to the improved Auto-stop, there is now an option to view data before and after the run starts/stops. This is done via right click on the graph and select "Show data beyond start and end". This is useful if you want to see what happened after the run ended, or maybe you started the run early and want to see what happened before the defined run start. You can now also manually stop any time you want after the run has finished, and with the "Show data beyond start and end" turned off, you will only see data within the defined run start/stop.
  • The status in the Run window is now "Inactive" if Manual start is on and another Windows window is active instead of UnaVision. This is useful, in case you have another Windows program open that you have been using before doing another pull. If you press the start button (Space normally) then this keystroke is sent to that other Windows program, and not to UnaVision, so the run will not start. Now you have a warning in this case
  • Improved auto zero positioning of water brake/hydraulic valves. The new algorithm moves the valve out of the zero position and slowly back again, always stopping exactly when the sensor changes to zero. Previously, if the sensor was already at zero, the auto zero would not do anything. This could potentially mean that if the valve is not operating but by chance was at the zero position, you would not get notified. Also, the zero position sensor is active over a certain range of positions, so it would not necessarily start at exactly the same place every time the system was turned on. A nice improvement!
  • There is now a * in Results tables to denote the defined average RPM area. Good for monochrome printers
  • Ability to show the Results tabs over several lines, for those of you who have a lot of tabs!
  • Brake after run is now possible until 0 RPM/speed

Bug fixes:

  • CAN bus out was only active after the Options window had been active. Now it starts automatically
  • The Speed channel was not working when the dyno type was "Custom"
  • Sometimes save run to database would fail
  • Start run based on data channel value did not work in certain conditions
  • Load Control vs Speed brake mode: Sweep rate was not defined correctly

Enjoy! And let me know of any issues.

Having an issue with it wiping my individual run data when I check the box to open it in the database. It takes all the hp and tq data to 0, and essentially makes the run nothing.  It does save the ENV Conditions and the Run Time, and it will allow me to do a re-run to get the data back.  I have had it also zero the re-run unchecking and rechecking.  Very bad to lose this data.  I'm scared to even open stuff now.

The font sizing is very cool as I over the 50 😀

Can U take a look at the CANTool autoconnect feature ? never connect at the app started (worked fine in the previous app), no matter if the checkbox checked or not.

Also would be a nice feature if the existing plugin configuration files (like cantool.dll.json) would not be overwriten with the software update.

instead the "stock" files just copied there with a .stock extension or something else...

And yes, somthing wrong with this version, the "rerun" is totally broken (was fine on the previous), the Tq value much less, also the RPM scale is differs.

@hondarulez when doing a rerun, you must make sure the settings are the same as when you did the original run. If you have done any changes, then click the gear icon to load settings from the run, then click re-run. Otherwise it uses your current gear ratio, RPM settings, etc and apply those to the raw data from the original run.

@cmadmin Ok, I confused a little i think 🙂

I understand if i make a rerun in the database in any session it will use the "current settings"..

but are those settings not tied/saved to the rerun ? is it means all the "reruns" in the databese will change if any the settings change ?

In my case, the posted rerun was made with same settings except the MOI. It was differs in the Tq/Hp.

In the next days I do different cars with more different settings (like gear ratio, too) but I didn't notice any changes on the pervious reruns in the database.

After installed the latest version the reruns displays different values...

@hondarulez each run includes the settings for that run. These settings never change, they are tied to the run forever.

If you want to re-run a run, load the settings, do whatever changes you like (for example gear ratio, MOI, filtering, etc) and click Rerun. Then you know exactly what was different between the settings of the original run and the re-run.

You can re-run at any time without loading the settings from the run too. For example if you just did the run and want to see what it looks like with a different noise filtering, then there is no point loading the settings, because they are the same as the settings stored in the run. But if it is a little while ago that the run was done, then it is easy to forget that something changed. For example just opening the Run window will change the load cell zero cal ever so slightly if you have the Auto zero load cell turned on, so a re-run will be (very) slightly different.

If the re-run is different from the original run after loading the settings, then send the run to me at jostein@yourdyno.com and I will take a look.
