Q&A Forum
Hello,
I am new to YourDyno.
As the "electronics guy" , I am helping friends to put an old G490EH (able to go up to 14000rpm) dyno back to service. They mainly refresh old F1 Cosworth DFV and BMW F2.
This dyno was already updated years ago, but was not used a lot (long story). This model has no handles on the side to regulate brake. But the electronic system is not present anymore .
Water from network is feeded at the inlet through a pressure regulator, at 0.7 to 1 bar. The outlet has a sort of spherical valve ( not rotative and not butterfly), actuated by a high pressure circuit. I don't have more details for now.
I would place the Yourdyno valve at the inlet, and place a manual valve at the outlet. I saw a video of the same dyno, with an actuated valve which feeds water at the inlet. But my friends said it will not work on this dyno, and the actuated valve should be put at the outlet.
Does anyone have knoweledge of this kind of dyno ??? I don't think it is different than any other dyno, that it request to be regulated at the output.
Angelo
Hi there,
Most water brakes are regulated at the inlet, but not all. Kevin Hamilton is the expert on different models and history, he is on a short vacation. Back Thursday! He should be able to help.
I have Froude F209 that is also max 1400rpm
They was orginal used for Group C BMW F1 and Jaguar 220
