<span;>I've just come across this interesting article by Martin Falch from CSS Electronics:

<span;> https://www.csselectronics.com/pages/can-bus-reverse-engineering-ai-llm-claude

<span;>And I think that this, or a similar tool might be of great help for us. I've also done some research on Internet and it looks than some other people are working on the same idea.

<span;>This guy has developed an AI tool able to reverse engineer CAN bus data. Essentially what it does is compare the CAN Bus data stream with a given signal to find the correlation between both and determine its location in the CAN data as well as its multiplier and offset.
<span;>I find this can be particularlly useful on dyno logs. I tune bikes and ETV angle signals are not easy to isolate as they are not visible and are normally very dependant on the APS/RPM map so, they vary on their own fashion.

<span;>I have succedded in finding some signals in the CAN stream with the CAN data in one window and the values displayed in my diagnostic tool in other window, but ETV valves are not exactly easy.

<span;>Because of this difficulty I tend to use Woolich Racing software as my tool of preference as it is the only flashing tool (to my knowledge) that also logs real time data. It is a breeze for tuning but the problem is that is not available for some models I usually work on and in those, tuning gets a bit of trial and error, making the process longer and less precise.

<span;>If this is not easy to add into UNA Vision, maybe there's someone out there using some similar tool who can enlighten and help the rest of us, the less IT people.

<span;>I think a tool like this would be an excelent add-on to UNA Vision as it would allow to find easily the location of this (and other relevant) values, include them in the datalog and get a very accurate view of what (and where) is going on. It would help a lot.
