Having issues connecting bluetooth adapter through scantool plugin. Pairs with computer fine, finds port fine. Once I press connect in scantool plugin, program freezes. Tested adapter with other obd2 programs on computer and connected fine. I looked through recent and past threads but didn't find any information on the issue.
In the port number you need to confirm you have selected the correct com port. I found that selecting the incorrect com port quickly results in the software freezing. I also found that sometimes windows connects to the OBD tool, but doesn't assign it to a COM port.
To confirm which port is outgoing, you need to first connect to the elm adapter, then, if using windows 10, start, settings, devices, blue tooth and other devices, scroll down and click more blue tooth options, then com ports and confirm which port number is outgoing. If not com ports are displayed here, then that will your issue. simply click add, and add the com ports in manually.
Good luck!
