Taylor waterbrake information please

I bought 2 waterbrakes off a cm51 dyno  . From researching information on that dyno , I found it has a 20" roller and it is rated at 90 mph.  As I'll be running smaller rollers, I would be over revving my brake compared to this  . I was thinking i should gear it down . Here are the cm51 spec.

From what I believe It's a dh22 and even the dh23 had rpm of 4500.

This looks to be the only waterbrake on taylor site that looks exactly like mine ,  rated same hp ,  and is rated to 5500 rpm ,  which would be great.

My question is ,

Is it possible that the cm51 somehow has different internals that make the waterbrake for lower rpm ?

Or is this  dh22 waterbrake the same as the two on a cm51 and is capable of 5500 rpm?

Any feedback you can give  about taylor water brakes would really be appreciated.

You are correct, the DH series is derived from the CM51 absorber. You appear to be missing the fact that the CM51 uses a 3.69:1 speed increasing gearbox between the roll shaft and the dynamometer absorber. SO the short answer is, yes, you can use the absorber removed from the CM51 at the higher speed as indicated on the DH22. I got information back from Taylor. The cm51 dyno   , being for  big diesel trucks ,  needed the ability to load from lower rpm , so they fitted a gearbox speeding up the waterbrake . From memory I think he said 3.73 to 1 .

So I'm all happy now the brake will work fine for me with 1 to 1 ratio. Should be good for 100 odd hp at 60 kmh rising quickly and capable of 200 kmh if necessary , but i don't intend to take cars that high if at all possible .

Anyway turned out well . Hope this helps someone in the future .
