Q&A Forum
Going to apologize for the very newbie questions here. I may be overthinking all of this. I have tuned on rented dynos plenty of times, but the owners were always running the dyno and I just tuned.
I have a Land And Sea dual roller water brake dyno that I am putting the YourDyno V5 controller on. Is there somewhere I can get information on setting roller size and things like that in the software? I am also assuming I need to input tire size for each vehicle, gear ratio, etc. too right? Feeling like a deer in headlights at the moment and want to make sure I understand what I am doing with it. I never used it with their controller and software so I am basically starting from scratch with my dyno knowledge.
Also, is Holley CAN BUS channel information available somewhere to input info to the dyno?
Hi,
Welcome to YourDyno!
The roller size is here: Plugins->Speed and distance. Enter the circumference in meters (in other words enter: Diameter (in) x 0.0254 * 3.1415)
Yes, you can load the CAN bus settings for Holley RacePak. Go to CAN Bus->CAN input channels. Select the Holley RacePak from the pulldown menu and click Load channels. You will get a lot of channels, so I recommend removing those you don't use (highlight the row by clicking the far left and click the delete key).
Let me know if you have more questions!
Thanks for the roller info. I stared answering some of my own questions by just going through the run process, but never found the roller diameter. That was the missing link I needed.
I think the Racepak CAN BUS is different than the Sniper and Terminator X protocol. That is what I will be dealing with mostly. I don't know that to be 100% true, but I believe so
I think you can set up the CAN format to be RacePak. The other formats are proprietary I think.
