Hello im about to start making a chassis dyno ( very noob to how to make it )

i already got a telma CC300 24v brake and i will rewire it for 192v

now im have an order on a local machine shop for two flanges to get the brake on the frame ( that i will make ) and probably mate it with a 500kg load cell ( i guess )

now the questions...

does your dyno power supply supports the brake i have ? ( i guess that it does but it doesn't hurt to ask )

axle sizes 50-60-70-80mm ?

from what i can understand my brake is safe to turn up to 3.5k rpm ( can i turn it faster or will it explode ? lol )

roller sizes ? i was thinking dual rollers from 20 cm (OD Tubes) x 160cm (length) x 1cm (wall thickness)  will they be enough ? its a size i can get easy and cheap to machine them into rollers with knurling caps and axles

im not aftering huge horse powers and i have a limited space and budget so i need to go easy on that project 🙂

Hello and welcome!

The CC300 is a large brake, 1000kg load cell is good for that brake. Yes, don't go over the rated RPM, it is 3500 for this brake.

For roll size, larger is better. 20cm rollers is small. Your brake is very good, so your max power will be limited by the rollers in this setup. There is a calculator here on the size vs max power: DYNOmite Dynamometer (dynomitedyno.com). I think they are a bit optimistic, but they are a guide at least. If you have the possibility, I would at go for at least 30cm, but of course it depends on your budget.
