Greetings tuners!

Software version 3.01.77 was released today. It brings the following:

  1. Ability to trim the graphs and straighten the graph where needed. See it demonstrated here
  2. Moved the IIR filter operation after the run (offline) such that the automatic start/stop now has minimal delay
  3. Auto stop run will now wait for the duration of the RPM brake curve as a minimum, i.e. it both needs to have reached the end RPM and the duration of the curve in time before the brake is turned off. This enables any curve and it enables holding the RPM at max for a while, etc.
  4. Brake sweep improvement. You now set the RPM per second you want to achieve. Brake can still only either increase or decrease in this mode, but the rate is now depending on the actual speed of the RPM change.
  5. Improved print functionality. The height of the graph windows will be used to set the size of the graphs when it is printed. I.e. you can have a large HP/Torque graph and a small lambda graph below for example.
  6. Added an "Are you sure" when exiting YourDyno
  7. Fixed a couple of bugs

Hope you like it!

Greetings tuners,

Software version 3.01.78 was released today.

Changes:

  • Support for sessions. A session is a collection of runs, typically the same car/engine, and it stores the gear ratio, brake setup, auto start settings, etc. The name of the runs will default to the session name plus a number. The raw log files will also be stored in the same folder. A session can be opened at a later time when you want to test the car/engine again and the same setup as last time will be applied.
  • Ability to set the two Y-axes to the same scale. Right-click and select "Synchronize Y1 and Y2 axes".
  • Fixed a bug when the brake and logging did not turn off at the correct moment for RPM sweep when Frictional losses correction option was turned off.

Enjoy!

Greetings tuners!

A new big software change was released now, 3.01.80. It requires download of new firmware, version 1.17. Just press "Upgrade to latest firmware" in Options-Firmware Upgrade.

Changes:

  1. Support for OBD2 RPM readings over Serial, USB or Bluetooth. This enables automatic gear ratio calculation.
  2. Support to use the 2nd RPM input for direct engine RPM measurement. This also enables automatic gear ratio calculation. You will need another RPM sensor or a spark plug adapter like this one: Spark plug adapter. Or use an output from the ECU (0-5V square wave).
  3. Support for CVT and similar gear boxes with variable gear ratio. This feature is not fully tested yet, so use with caution (let me know!).
  4. Added support to test 2WD cars on 4WD dynos. This is done by adding separate Moment of Inertia for front and back rollers + more options on the RPM setup.
  5. Ability to turn on and off gauges in the Run window (hotkey = "V", same as for curves in main window).
  6. Added "Bring to Front" and "Send to Back" for gauges.
  7. Added Roller/Hub RPM gauges.
  8. Added ability to lock brakes. This for setups with 2 brakes, where independent control of both brakes is not wanted.
  9. A couple of cleanups here and there.

Note: This is a big update to many parts of the system. You will need to go through Options->Basic Dyno Settings and in the Run Window check out "RPM setup". You will need to update some of your settings. You also need to download the latest firmware.

Happy tuning!

wow! nice good updates! I have some questions about this latest update, since im using a hub dyno with 2 brakes/2 load cells /2 rpm sensors.

I noticed, i only can choice load cell number, not rpm sensors.

Since i use already 2 Eddy brakes, how do i have to configure it right now? about MOI,etc.

i see different RPM Setup window, i asume i'd have to put load cell 1+2 in both inputs?

I see about "lock brakes", but i can't see that option in the software, can  you explain please how does it will works exactly?

About 5 point: turn off gauges doesnt Works to me.

bmgjet He means in Run Windows i think..

Hi, yes, the RPM setup is moved to the Run window.

Walter, for your hub dyno, choose:
RPM1 input function: Load cell1 RPM
RPM2 input function: Load cell2 RPM

Then in the gear ratio setting, choose either OBD2, Tacho or "Set gear ratio manually".

To see the lock brakes setting, choose the RPM setup above (using two RPM sensors). Then it appears as an option in the Brake control setup in options. I will change the behaviour so it is make it is visible all the time, I think that's easier. This setting makes both brakes work in tandem all the time. Essentially it will only use RPM sensor 1 as the input for controlling RPM, then control both brakes using the PID controller for RPM1.

Locking brakes sound really really good, it's like a sync mode, does it?

Yes, both brakes will brake the same amount. This can be a good option for cars with limited slip diff. For open diffs, you will want separate control of the wheels.

Will that link update my existing version or will I need to re-enter all my current settings?

Hi, yes just right-click on the link above and save it to a usb drive and run it from there. You must download the firmware also, it is here: https://www.yourdyno.com/YourDyno_1.17.cyacd . You must right-click and save as YourDyno_1.17.cyacd and then when upgrading the firmware click "Upgrade firmware using downloaded file".

Still I can't turn on "use sensor data" "Pressure and Humidity sensor attached:" is "No".

Is it possibility to downgrade software to 3.01.78 and firmware to 1.16?

adamkot85, you are right, there is a bug in 1.17 preventing the environmental sensors. I will fix!
