Interference sending the gauges wild!

Hi all,

Got an annoying issue with my setup, the MPH, HP, Drum RPM and TQ gauges sometimes go wild, as if there is interference somewhere. Doesnt happen all the time, but when it does it's hard to stop. It started doing it, so I bonded the screened cable between the AFR setup (lambda probe, solenoid, wideband controller etc) to the YD unit and it stopped. Then it randomly started doing it again, but only when the drum was rotating, so I bonded  the dyno itself to the YD unit, and it stopped.

Now the other day it started again, and the only way to stop it was to bond myself to the YD unit!

Bizarre!

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Thanks

Paul

Sounds like you have some sort of grounding issue. The YourDyno box is usually grounded through the load cell shield, otherwise connect one of the shield inputs  to ground. Also make sure the dyno is grounded, the car is grounded and the PC is grounded.

The power supply to the Lambda should be of good quality and should be isolated (i.e. minus is not the same as ground).

If 0V of one of the YourDyno inputs has to be connected to ground, then make sure only 1 of the 0V inputs are connected to ground.

If the problem continues, try to disconnect sensors until the issue stops to see where it comes from.
