i have built ,tested , inductive tachometers ,led, oled ,cheap Chinese lathe tacho displays, and mini motorcycle, tacho's
works independently, and with yourdyno blue box
the biggest problem , is rf signal, crashing bluebox, and computer,
optical isolated opto couplers, work super good, but EMF from certain ignition's, will still cross over isolated couplers
will send, provide wiring diagrams, pics of inductive led display tacho's, for use with yourdyno
also working on ,inductive tacho , connected , vis optical fibre to stop all EMF from ignition systems ,rf .ect

Indeed some ignitions are incredibly noisy, as you say they even crash the computer. It is best to avoid them altogether, use resistorized spark plugs, etc.
