What else will be needed to make this work with your Dyno software?

"What else will be needed to make this work with your Dyno software?"

Sorry. I don't understand. Is this a question to me, or to admin?

Do you mean YOURDYNO SOFTWARE, or your dyno, software?

Sorry I thought I quoted the admin...it was to him

Hi,

The option to use the second RPM input as spark plug signal is almost ready. It will support wasted sparks. Setting the gear ratio then is just a matter of pressing 1 button. But it is not really difficult to add support for continuously changing gear ratio too, so while I am at it I may just as well do that. This will then only be supported for the second RPM input, not when OBD2 is the source for engine RPM, as the delay and update rate is not fast enough. The update I am working on now is quite large, with OBD2 support for the first time, so I might break this into two releases.

That said, you should stick to a specific gear and do all your tests in that gear for a given car. Moment of Inertia changes with gear ratio as well as drive train losses.

Sorry I have not had time to get on in a while..is the software ready to use a true Rpm signal of off the Motor? If so what is all needed to make it work?

Slowstang89, yes. You need a way to get the engine RPM, using for example a module to pick up the signal from the spark plug wire like this one http://dtec.net.au/Dyno%20RPM%20Adapter.htm , You plug this into the second RPM input. You can also use OBD2 for engine RPM.

Is there any other options out there ?  I'm not opposed to buying this one but shipping to the states is almost as much as unit itself..seems like there's alot of Rpm adapters out there..
