Engine RPM not reading with latest software

I'm just getting back to figuring out my dyno after letting it sit for most of the year.  With the 3.2.98 and 100 versions of the software the engine RPM no longer reads on the gauge on the run screen.  It was reading correctly with an earlier version, but I upgraded so I could reverse the power readings so they're positive.  Now the engine RPM gauge now only reads when the rollers are spinning and seems to indicate roller RPM even when the roller is on RPM1 and the engine RPM is on RPM2 and correctly selected in the setup.

I have another laptop configured with 3.2.26 and it does still read engine RPM correctly.  Is it possible that this is a software issue, or have I screwed something up in the setup?

Hi there Jason,

The behavior changed on this since 3.2.26.

The Engine RPM is the calculated Engine RPM from the roller and gear ratio. To see the directly measured engine RPM you need to enable the source of that RPM, in your case RPM2. It can also be RPM from the CAN bus, OBD2, etc, whatever you choose to be the source of the engine RPM.

@admin thanks, but I do have engine RPM selected under RPM2 input function on the RPM setup tab.  Is there somewhere else this needs to be configured?

No, that's all. RPM2 will then automatically be selected when you set the gear ratio.

RPM2 will plot the Engine RPM as measured by RPM2. Engine RPM is the calculated Engine RPM from the roller and gear ratio. This is what is used to trigger automatic start/stop and what is used as the source for power calculations.

@admin thanks, that's what I thought, but I can't seem to get it to work.  I'm going to try a different PC later in case something has been corrupted that isn't fixed by an uninstall and reinstall.

I think I have the engine RPM figured out.  Once I installed version 101, I was able to see the RPM2 gauge showing correct engine RPM and then once I locked the gear ratio, the Engine RPM gauge started working, too.
