Q&A Forum
I hope this isn't a silly question but.... I have a vm167 and see it has 5 analog inputs but I cant see how we get 8 analog inputs from it. I don't seem to be able to find how to configure / wire and use the board with 8 analog inputs. I require this for 8 EGT channels.
Hi, yes you are correct. The VM167 has 5 analog inputs.
For 8 thermocouple I recommend the CANTool. You can connect an ECUMasters 8 channel thermocouple amplifier, https://www.ecumaster.com/products/egt-to-can/.
See https://yourdyno.com/community/pluginforum/plugincantool/
Thats very disappointing, The code and screen is setup is for 8 extra channels and the plugin page says "This plugin provides support for the inexpensive VM167 board. With this plugin and the board, 8 more analog channels are added, as well as support for 4 outputs.". This was one of the reasons I purchased Yourdyno. Please amend the plugin pages description of this for others.
Yes, I will update it. And I will check if it is possible to use two VM167s.
Thank you, yes two vm167s can be used together but code is not my thing. Ill push forward with the project and set the EGT inputs till last then find the best way.
OK. Do check out the CanTool +EcuMasters option too, it is great for 8 channel thermocouples.
here is my VM167 plugin with 5 analog inputs and 5 outputs.
Thanks, what is the difference from the original plugin?
Only 5 analog inputs and 5 outputs.
