Hi guys,
Anyone using a 14point7 Spartan 2 combined with yourdyno controller? Looking for some advice.
I bought a second hand Spartan 2 (only been connected, engine has never ran) but when connecting it to Yourdyno it won't work.
I've asked Alan To but I guess he doesn't understand my question.
With my current Zeitronix ZT-2 I'm feeding it with 12V on a dedicated ower supply. On yourdyno I've connected electronics ground and signal which has served me well. However recently my ZT-2 decided to die so bought the aforementioned Spartan.
When I connect this the same way (and yes, I've checked connections and they all match the installation manual) but I get 0 result on Yourdyno.
According to the seller I need to make a bridge between heater ground and sensor ground for it to work, but I believe his controller is broken as when measuring the output with a volt meter between the black and green wire I get 0v, which means the yourdyno is doing it's job but the Spartan isn't giving any output.
So my question is to the one using it, have you connected it the same way I did, and does it function?

I guess you measured the signal with a voltmeter on the YourDyno input?
I’ve checked everything. The output literally gives 0,0v so logically yourdyno won’t register anything.
with both ground hooked up to my power source it does work. But then I have to run a seperate wire for ground reference on the dyno. Kinda defeats the purpose of a seperate ground reference in my opinion.
I’ve asked Alan again, all he says is: just hook both up to the power source. Not the answer I was looking for, apparently it’s not suited for an external controller to measure anything.....
I am using a Spartan 2. Works great hooked up just like the instructions say.
The only thing I found was that I had to use power from the dyno battery and not my 12 volt power supply. I couldn't get a clean signal using the power supply. I'm thinking it was borderline on the amperage available from the power supply.
So your signal ground is completely isolated from the power ground?
Ie, the power supply doesn’t share it’s ground with anything?

Decided to buy an zt-3 in the end. My zt-2 has always done me proud.
