Hi

We have a hub dyno on V4, but I have not updated either software or firmware in 3 years (if it ain't broke)

I use the canbus plug in extensively and have a lot of data for various ecus and my own canrpm and can logger device etc

How can I protect the canplugin data to be persevered when doing software update? And also dyno settings and preferences?

in regards to firmware update, as mine is quite old, will installing the latest pose any problems? Or is there a firmware upgrade path to follow?

Thanks

All the can bus configurations are stored here: C:\ProgramData\YourDynoPlugins\ControlCAN.dll.json

Settings for the old version are preserved when upgrading. So if you ever want to downgrade to a previous version, you can uninstall the new version and install the previous version.

The new firmware is compatible as far as I remember (3 years is a long time ago!)
