RPM Noise

My understanding of electronics is minimal, but I believe no matter what this RPM reading would have some jaggedness without filtering. Looking for an opinion on the RPM1 signal here to see if I need to figure out how to improve it. My only real other option would be tot mount the controller on the wall and not in a cabinet with the computer like I have it now.  Then the wire could be much shorter

I wonder here if the RPM signal is causing the brake to load more here or if the more load is causing the RPM  signal issue

Hi,

I don't think there is noise on the RPM signal here, but to be sure, post the raw .log file.

I see the brake settings needs adjusting though. It will probably behave better with a "Ramp up brake" setting that matches the power of the engine (try ramping up to 40-45% starting 1000 RPM under the start RPM) and more Kp and possibly more Ki.

I can help you tune in the brake if you are stuck.
