Is there a "signal period" range that works best with the resistor/capacitor combination that you have listed?

1000us (or 1 ms) is a good number.

This is only relevant for version 3 of YourDyno. To create an analog signal with YourDyno v3 you need a filter on the PWM signal. YourDyno v4 can output an analog signal directly.

Thanks! Also thanks for the great info and suggestions on brake control drive circuits. If I wanted to keep my telma operating on 24vdc could I use an IGBT to drive it? If so would you be able to provide a circuit example? I'm a little unclear on how they are used. Thanks again - Jim

You mean using a fixed 24V power supply and connect an IGBT in series and control it using the PWM signal? This can potentially work. I have done some simulations earlier, but never tested in real life. It could be something like the attached pic. The resistor in this circuit gets very hot, but otherwise it behaves reasonably well in simulations. Does anyone know the inductance of a Telma?

Here is what I was thinking of. It is n IGBT module rated for 200a and I think it's designed to directly switch inductive loads, but I'm not sure.

Yes, the IGBT could be that transistor M1 in my schematic. It should work, but rewiring and running at 192V is more common. Alternatively, put a couple of these in parallel:  https://www.ebay.com/itm/AC110-220-TO-DC-0-36V-Adjustable-Switching-power-supply-with-Digital-Display-LED/112412860433
