MAHA LPS 13 project. Many questions
I have a sun ram XII and I want to upgrade to yourdyno, would you share your time and give me the configuration you have?
Have you managed to solve the problems with the original load cell?
Can it be used as the original at constant load or constant speed for fault diagnosis or carburation or ECU mapping?
I have found a Maha dyno locally, and for a price I'm having a hard time not buying it for... even though I'm still working on setting up the Land & Sea in ground dyno with a friend of mine.
What sort of HP can this style dyno actually read? I'm thinking this Maha dual roller dyno might be good for a quick above ground install to be able to do steady state tuning, and can put off getting a water pump for the L&S dyno for the time being.
I don't have a model number, but looks similar to the Maha dyno shown in this thread, and what Maha shows as the FPS2700, that is rated to about 350 HP (260 kW), is that a limitation of the dyno construction, the brake or the load cell, because a load cell is easy to swap out, the brake not as easily. Would adding a heavy flywheel in parallel with the brake increase potential power readings?

I forgot to mention the ad says 150 HP rated, and I have found this video that shows a Maha emissions check dyno, which I suspect the one local to me was used for originally.
Any insight on this? Can it be modified to read upwards of 500 HP or so reliably?
