Nice Work Jostein!

ill give it a go tomorrow. Did you had time already to implement a ‘road load’ simulation when having a coast down from a car. Like the excel I once gave you where you enter time from speed checkpoints and vehicle mass and then end up with a 2nd order force f(speed)?

Thanks for your ongoing updates J, much appreciated.  The database is great, such a quick and easy way to navigate through a large number of old runs.

I had been hoping for a change in the way the graphing colors work and the new 'styles' go a long way to fixing this and it is now much better.
My preference would be to have each run use the same color for power and torque.  So run1 is (for example) dk.blue for hp/tq and run 2 is red for hp/tq, 3 is black etc, like the way Mainline and Superflow do it.
I don't care that the colors then wouldn't match the Y axis label colors.

Regardless, even if the coloring stayed as is (it's much better than before) but having the option to  automatically apply a different style to each successive run would be 99% as good in my eyes (literally :).  The most recent run always being the solid line style would make it fantastic.

Also, the change to the way the cropping tool works is not helpful.  I had a run where the curve turned underneath and backward at the end and now its impossible to only remove the unwanted part which is under the main curve.
It appears that an erroneous crop is also now committed/saved to the run in the database as the run where i did this seems to have been permanently cut off at the end now?

One last thing and largely unrelated to the new update.  I was hoping to see full control over selection of units.  I like to use HP, FtLb, DegC and km/h.  I'm doing it with a few math channels but it's untidy and I still have Nm in the run summary  as my primary selection is 'metric'.

I know it's impossible for you to please everyone as we all have different preferences and use the system for different applications.
Thanks again for the regular updates, it's a great system 🙂

Hi,

Thanks for the good feedback.

On the cropping, you should crop in Results vs Time. This solves the problem you describe where you want to cut the part of the curve that is the return back after hitting max RPM. Go to Results vs Time and crop everything after max RPM. You can crop in any graph and the other graphs are updated.

You can undo a crop by Right click->Undo graph crop. It remembers all crops that were done.

On the colors and styles, there are a million opinions on what is the best way. It is pretty configurable now; quick to swap styles, and you can use a mix of defined colors and different colors on left and right axis. Maybe we will add more functionality here, I will check feedback after a while.

Yes, your input on more granularity on the unit selection is good, and on the to-do list.

Thanks Jostein,

For some reason I thought there was no undo on cropping, so that's great news.

You are 100% correct on the impossibility of pleasing everyone with the colors.  The styles is a big improvement on the previous method regardless, so thank you.  At the very least, each run having a different style applied would make it easier to differentiate the 1st and 2nd runs.

Great news on the expansion of engineering units options.

Thanks again for all your work 🙂

Hi folks!

Nice to see all the good feedback on the new software version.

Here is an important fix: Version 4.0.32

It fixes a bug where runs were not stored correctly in the database if Auto stop and Retardation run both were on.

Any issues, let me know.
