How do you control the fan?
It's got a under plug thermo temp sensor so i use the 0 to 5v from the converter and set the input on the fan controle pcb to switch on when it goes above 2v then goes to a solid state realy dc/ac to turn the fan on its a massive pain in the butt and wish the yourdyno box had this built in as would be a grate function to have
I`m sure in a future it will have, can be easily controlled with one of the IO outputs, I personally like it more related to dyno rpm 🙂
Very nice setup! At the moment what kind of hydraulic valve are you using?
What pid setup are you using?
I'm using a 60lph needle valve and a 100/1 ratio stepper motor with a adaptor I made up between the two. again a massive pain to do not tested since I put the new stepper motor on as been busy working away will update and take pics when I get the charnce.
Things I found causing a problem in the softwhere.... steps if you had it set to over 6000 at 80% it would then turn back the other way.
I played with the stepper driver and got it work better but as I say I'll get some more pics when I get home from working away and upload for all to see
I have ask to Jostein if he can implement this function (to keep the temperature at preset value by check fan velocity or fan activation) on yourdyno box, I hope!
Hi, yes YourDyno has 3 inputs/outputs that can be used to control switches or read on-off sensors. Just need to do the software support for it. I see more and more people ask for this, so I will add it to the priority list. A few things first though, among them is the OBD2 RPM + second RPM sensor for engine RPM.
Nice, the OBD2 will only get rpm data? what device we have to purchase, so I can have here when is released 🙂
An ELM327 device, USB or Bluetooth.
RPM is first, but of course there are many codes that can be read ;-). I am working on the RPM as we speak!
This was mock up
Perfect set up, could you send us more photos of your sprocket, starter, pump axle setup?
How do you control throttle?
It's best to use hand controle for throttle, if you use a pivot point and make it stiff to move you can apply throttle and leave it there why you play with jets ECT, I found that was the best way for my aplication
