Engine RPM Sensor problem

Hello everyone. 

I bought Yourdyno and I wanted to test the MSD RPM sensor. For this to work, I have to set the RPM 1 sensor - load cell1 RPM, although the device has an MSD in RPM1 sensor.

Nothing happens when I select the "engine RPM" sensor in RPM1.
I connected the input to the coil in my daily car.
Ultimately, I have to measure the rotation on the wire from the coil to the spark plug. (4stroke engine, GX model (Honda, B&S, etc.) MSD probably won't work?

What could be wrong?

Hello,

Here is how to do it in your setup: 

RPM1 should be set to Load cell 1

RPM2 should be set to Engine RPM

Then when setting the gear ratio the measured engine RPM and the measured roller RPM will be used to calculate. After this, Engine RPM is always calculated from the roller RPM * Gear ratio. This is because this RPM is updated much more frequently than the directly measured engine RPM, and all power calculations etc are resulting from measured data at the brake. 

If you want the Engine RPM in a gauge where you see the engine revving, then plot RPM2. Similarly if you use OBD2 then plot OBD2 RPM, CAN bus RPM, etc 

You can also plot results vs the directly measured engine RPM (RPM2) by selecting the tab Results vs RPM2 (first select RPM2 as the X axis in Options).

@vikay, yes it is normal like that. Show RPM2 in the Gauge.
