Hi there!
I saw that some guys use air bags to set proper camber on their hub dynos. But it seems to me a little bit complicated system. You have to connect dyno to an air compressor and also, I cannot imagine how to easily set a proper angle.

Could any hydraulic rods work like this?
it's all your design, i use motorcycle shocks... you have to choice the right ones according as i said your design, find one with the right travel (min and max point of your dyno design).
Thank you for your input. In the end I decided to use a trailer jack and a swivel wheel. Let’s see how it will work.
I have another doubt if it is needed to use some rubber coupling on the shaft. Some guys use it some not. I would like to keep a design as simple as possible but if there is any serious reason to use rubber coupling, I will use it.
simple is BEST. that's what i learned from a guy that built his hub dyno some years ago, then decided to build mine.
you can install more bearings, air jacks, etc, will be more pieces could failure then more difficult for replace, more time for remove all parts, etc.
Rubbers can absorber vibration, then will avoit possible cracks to metal pieces but if you build correctly with the right materials, you will never have problems in the future. as rubbers absorb vibration, it can "extend and compress" so you couldnt get 100% reading force to load cell.
