Howdy!

I am just getting started with my dyno setup but have worked with my brother to make a USB Relay plug in for the cheaper 4 and 8 channel boards found on ebay that includes the automatic control and hotkeys. We started with the bmgjet version to figure out how the plug in communicates with YourDyno and then added in the automation/other features. I have been using the Hotkeys regularly now and we have done some testing on some of the auto functions for example: Turning on my hydraulic pump once a certain roller speed is reached and turning on my water pump once a certain brake temperature is achieved.

We would appreciate any feedback related to usage/issues/suggestions to make it better. I do not have an 8 relay board so if someone could test this on one and let us know how it goes we would appreciate that as well.

Link to download just the USBRelay.dll here - https://github.com/alexdixon41/usb-relay-plugin/releases/download/0.2/USBRelay.dll

Install it in the yourdyno plugin folder just like any other plugin.

And here is a link to the full github if anyone is interested! usb-relay-plugin/USBRelay.dll at master · alexdixon41/usb-relay-plugin · GitHub

Thanks again to my brother for writing this out for us and as always, thank you to Jostein and the yourdyno folks for allowing people like me to have modern dyno controls at such a reasonable price!

Our USB Relay plug in has been updated to work with YourDyno Version 3.3.56

Download the .dll here https://github.com/alexdixon41/usb-relay-plugin/releases/tag/1.2

I just got my USB 8 relay board today, and so I plugged in the board and started testing t with this plug in.

Keep in mind my dyno isn't up and running yet, but getting close, hopefully in the next couple/few weeks, so I'm just using the Your Dyno software setup for now.

What I have noticed is that to turn and output on and then off again, manually, requires at least 3 seconds between a change of state. Is this a function of the plugin, or of the board? I haven't found any standalone software to test the relay board on it's own. It does seem that the state will change basically immediately when the button is pressed after that 3 second or so elapsed time, so it's not a huge deal, just want to figure out where that delay is coming from.

Thanks

@six_shooter it is a function of the plug in that was done on purpose to keep from shotgunning the load, whatever it may be, of the relay. In our case, we have one running the 220volt hydraulic motor for the brake and one that is setup for automatic control based off of temperature, for the brake cooling water pump.
This delay prevents "shotgunning" motors like this on and off too quickly in the case of an accidental double mouse click which is easy to do with these wireless keyboards on the move.

Hope you enjoy using the plug in, it has veen very handy!
