Why bmtune support dropped? Will it be added back
Newer versions broke support for it. Using older versions still work under ectune setting. Or use bluecan adapter which works with current version of bmtune.
Hi bmgjet, Is there any way to bring in GM OBD1 data or Mega Squirt stand alone stuff?
GM OBD1 would be way to slow to be of any use.
Which mega squirt.
There serial protocol isnt too hard so could be added but then you would be able to tune it at the same time making it a bit pointless.
So MS with CAN bus would be a better option.
MS 2 which is supposed to support CANbus networking.
Thanks for making this plugin! I have been trying to work with it i only have one question. Is it possible to use the scantool RPM as workable variable for the dyno functions? like with powersweeps of steady state. Currently i have not been able to do this. Yourdyno uses the roller rpm instead of the scantool RPM and i did not find any option to switch this source. Thanks in advance!
No, you need the brake RPM. Acceleration calculation needs 200 measurements per second minimum, so that will be too slow with OBD2.

With using our current china ELM its very slow...like one update every second...can see definite steps in the RPM over time.
Will be to slow.
Genuine ELMs update at 100ms, Chinese ones 250-500ms.
So even genuine ones will only give you 10 updates per second.
CAN Bus is more promising tho.
Most ECUs will do 50hz which is equal to 20ms per update.
Some will do 100hz which is 10ms per update.
Still not as fast as the rpm sensor on the dyno tho. But with CAN Bus stuff its at least fast enough to detect wheel slip where the OBD2 ELMs only really good for setting the gear ratio with.

I just have a few questions:
i’ve got an obd link sx, does that pass as one of the genuine ELM’s? Runs on a baudrate of 115200 iirc
Also any chance you’d be willing to add pids I can supply?
I’m running a Renault dedicated tuning company and running into issues on newer models which I don’t have datalogging tools for. I do however have the manufacturers sheets including enhanced diagnostic pids, would be awesome if these could be integrated!
Seeing your post above, elm’s are still too slow? Will it be possible to add support for the tactrix OP 2.0?
When Iv got some time I need to update this since iv gotten ELMs down to 60ms responce time.
And some instructions for modding Chinese ones to 4X the speed of them. Since I also use the same ScanTool code in tuning software Im working on.
If they are standard PIDs then I can add them. Extended IDs tho is a lot more work then I want to put in.

Standard and enhanced pids, but I have all the info you need, pid id, offset, factor, units etc. If you have these would it still be too much work? If it is I might need to look into C# myself....
Alternatively, if you could school me on the specific bit of code I could always do the typing work myself
