Is there other tach adapter options that are compatible with yourDyno other than the dtech... preferably something I can get in the united states?

This could be done with a plugin, using mic input on the dyno computer and a little circuit to limit the signal to 2.5V.
Or you could use a USB sound card if you dont want to risk blowing the dynos sound chip if your voltage limiting cicuit fails.

That seems like a good option.
Cheap enough that you dont have to worrie about frying it. Use the 3.3V output singal into a mic input.
Make a back probe adapter to hook it up to the coil.

Then write a plugin to count the pulses and select what type of ignition it is so it converts it to a RPM number.
