Q&A Forum
Hello!
I'm planing on rebuilding an old analog "Zöllner" water brake.
This water brake in particular uses a shield around the rotor to control the braking power.
Is there any advantage or disadvantage between fill level control and a shielded rotor ?
My options are:
Rebuild the brake for stepper or servo control
or
Build a new housing and use a control valve with a stepper
Sorry, I'm unable to find the picture upload here.
Kind regards,
Sascha
Hmm, interesting concept, did not see that before. I imagine it can work well if the adjustment is fast enough, but I don't have any experience with it!
How fast do you recon ?
I am a Machinist and can build everything I need. Maybe a big stepper motor or a small servo will do it.
The brake handles only 170 PS and 7500rpm.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks.
Sascha
