Q&A Forum
Hi.
Would anybody like to help me do a sanity check for my dyno plans?
I`ve been using the DTec Inertia design tool spreadsheet to do the rough calculations and have wound up with these results:
Roller OD: 510mm
Inertia: 51kg/m2
Roller rpm start off pull: 940 rpm
Roller rpm end off pull: 2090 rpm
Assuming that the spreadsheet uses average power to in the calculations this should result in a necessary average power of 195kw to do a 5 second sweep (I don`t remember the engine rpm but I belive that it was from 2000 to 6500rpm). In real life I would say that the dyno should be able to dyno at least 50% higher peak horsepower values? (due to the fact that the average power or area below the curve would be only a fraction of peak power)
If anyone got some inertia values from other dynos with their claimed max power capability it would be great! 🙂
Hi.
Mine is a 116.9 kg/M2 and i reckon this is capable of around 1000hp without external brake.
With brake the limiting factor is traction.
