PID settings resetting?

Hi All,

I've just converted my Dyno Dynamics DD450 to run YourDyno, so far it looks pretty good 🙂

I should post a build thread for others who may be looking to do this. I managed to reuse the existing umbilical cable and SCR etc.

It can be converted back to use the old DD DOS based PC and software in around 15 minutes if required.

I did my first runs today and have had to re-enter my PID settings 3 times as they keep returning to the default settings at random times.

My gauge layout regularly fails to remember recent changes also.

Any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks! 🙂

Hi,

I have not heard of that settings problem before. Can you check if it helps to run as administrator. Right click the YourDyno icon, click Advanced, click "Run as administrator". Or maybe your user is not administrator on the PC.

That is the only thing I can think of. The settings are stored when you close the Run window.

Thanks Jostein.

I am logged in as an admin user, so it's probably not that.

It's only happened a few times, so it seems inconsistent.

Recently I sent you an email when the software would not start and you told me to delete the user.config file, so it was corrupted on that occasion at least..  weird..  Could that be related?

Does it matter if I close the 'run' window using the X at the top right, or the 'Dismiss' button provided at the bottom?

Thanks so much for your help.

I think I've found a few minor bugs, so I'll post those here sometime too.

Yes, it can be related. The user.config file is where all the options are stored, so if this file gets messed up then you lose your settings and you need to restore them.

You can try to save your options, reinstall YourDyno, restore options and see. Maybe something went wrong somewhere in the installation. It is not a common problem.
