Hello, I recently learned of YourDyno and all of the feedback I've heard about the products and about Jostein have been phenomenal! After much frustration with Dynocom being Dynocom, myself and the shop owner are at the end of our wits with the company and we are looking to run the Dynocom DC-1800X with another vendor's DAQ system. Before investing in YourDyno, I want to ensure that all of our bases are covered and all of our questions are answered.

1. What expectations should we have if we were to implement YourDyno as the DAQ to our Dynocom DC-1800X?

2. We have an eddy brake already built-in to the dyno. Is the $800 Instrument Kit & the $500 eddy brake power supply the only things that we need in order to retain full functionality?

3. I believe the $800 instrument kit comes with the following. Anything else that I'm missing?

  • 1 Load Cell
  • 1 drum tachometer
  • DAQ that receives input from the load cell & the drum tach and outputs it to a Windows PC
  • Windows dyno software

4. Does anyone know what the voltage/amperage requirements are for Dynocom's eddy brake? How would I go about finding out?

5. What else do I need to know about eddy brake configuration?

I think you'll find the load cell and speed sensor are purchased separately to the instrument unit.

I am of course biased, but this is a no-brainer upgrade. Lots of people complain about the DynoCom electronics/software, YourDyno brings you to another level. Yes, all you need is the YourDyno instrument unit and Eddy brake power supply. The brake is 192V, which is default from YourDyno.

Check the video of an upgrade here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_g8iMbShiU

It is as easy as that!
