When using a k type thermocouple wired to the thermocouple input on the box , my temps on the  display gauge seem to be about 30-35 degrees less than actual.   Any other experices with this or do I possible have a bad theromouple.

Do you have the polarity correct?  Red is negative and yellow is positive.

Also, if you have extended the wires, you must you correct k-type extension wire and should not introduce any other types of metal such as brass where connections are made.

Polarity correct.    ( reversed it for a check just in case)    nothing added between the themocouple and the box

Do a test by shorting the thermocouple input with a regular wire. It should show room temperature. The range for the K-type thermocouple is huge (-200C to +1260C) so there will be a certain inaccuracy, but not 30 degrees!

The measurement uses the internal temperature measurement as the base. Is the environmental sensor showing correct temperature?
