Q&A Forum
Hi all,
I've been having an issue with my graphs reading lower rpm than the actual engine rpm and I’m not sure exactly why. I’ve messed with all sorts of settings and haven’t gotten a good result yet. I’ve uploaded two images, one of my RPM Setup and the other of a results table showing all the different RPMs that YourDyno is logging. You can see that the RPM2 (engine RPM via inductive clamp) is reading correctly. RPM is about 400rpm lower at redline and makes my graphs look short. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Hi,
Very likely what happens is tire compression and a little slip. Bump up the tire pressure and try again. Also you can do the gear ratio calculation with the brake on some suitable %-age so the tires and everything is loaded up like in a run.
Note that you can also plot the curve vs the recorded engine RPM by going to Options->Results vs... and choose RPM2.
Cheers
Hi,
Loading the dyno while setting the gear ratio fixed my issue, as I wasn’t loading it. Can’t wait to see what new features keep getting added, as this software is working really well! Thank you!!!
