Q&A Forum
Hello fellow members,
Can i somehow have the automatic MOI test procedure with RPM target instead of SPEED (just like it was on previous versions of the program)?
I am having issues with the new MOI interface and i believe that the old one was more user-friendly and accurate.
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
The MOI wizard needs the circumference of the rollers (or wheel in case of a hub dyno) to be set in Plugins->Speed and distance.
With this, it is much better to use Speed than RPM. You just accelerate to the given speed and the dyno does the rest. You don't need to use a particular gear.
Can you check that? If still problems, let me know in more details what the problems are.
Hi Jostein,
Thank you for your kind reply.
Can you please give me an example of what i have to insert as circumference of the wheel (i have a hub dyno)? What do i need to measure since there is no wheel at the car when is on the dyno.
Also can you please clarify if the acceleration must be done with full throttle open or with partial depressed the accelarator pedal of the car?
Thank you in advance.
@anakin, for a hub dyno you need to enter the circumference of your car's wheels, since they rotate at the same RPM as the hub.
For the MOI wizard there is no requirement as to full or half throttle. Data collection starts when you reach the set start RPM, it does not care what happens before that.
Ok, you lost me again. The wheels are off the car in order to get the dyno installed in the car's hub. So what circumference do i need to measure?
Also the same car can have different setup of wheels (15", 16", etc..).
Furthermore, the current MOI wizard is working through the target speed that you are setting, correct? Why you mention the RPM? Does it matter how fast you reach the required speed in order the software to do the maths for the MOI's? If yes, then the throttle opening should be taken under consideration for correct calibration.
